All of these pictures were taken during our night we spent ghost hunting at the Mansfield Reformatory on July 13, 2001. The few that are not from that night I mentioned were from my day tour on June 9, 2001. When I take pictures during my hunts, I make sure that no straps, bars, fingers, hair, clothing or anything else is in the way to obstruct any pictures or to cause any reflections. I am also very skeptical of all of my pictures until I can't find the reason why I caught what I did on film, and they are confirmed by professional ghost hunters and photographers.

This picture was taken on my day tour back in June. The orb is near the bottom, slightly to the right in the picture. In the original picture, the tail of the orb is very clear.

Picture taken on a drive past the old Ohio State Reformatory on Route 13 in Mansfield. Most of the buildings, including the "wall" that surrounded the Reformatory have been demolished. The Reformatory is now surrounded by a field full of weeds, and the new Mansfield Prison is to the north.

This gate and wall is actually a prop built for the Airforce 1 movie that was filmed at the Reformatory. It was casted off the original blocks of the Reformatory, but only extends about 50 feet or so off the West Cell Block. Through the gates in that courtyard is where Godsmack filmed some of their music video "Awake."

In the upper left corner above a hanging light you will notice a pair of "glowing eyes." These glowing eyes belong to "something" named Elmo. He tends to show up in a lot of pictures belonging to many different people, taken on different days and times. These eyes/orbs show up in ones, twos and threes.

There is an "eye" toward the middle left of the picture. The Chapel is supposed to be one of the most active areas of the Reformatory. There have been a few instances when people were lucky enough to witness a light figure swinging and capture and EVP.

This picture was also taken on my day tour back in June of this year. As we came down from the library I decided to snap this picture on a platform facing the north side of the East Cell Block. Notice the three eyes/orbs floating halfway through the block. On the original, they look 3D so it's easier to see that they are not a reflection of something on the other end of the wall

This picture was taken in the basement in an area where my group noticed a lot of activity. There is a room down there with a couple of huge doorways that were bricked up, and some people believe this used to be the morgue. That would explain the active environment underneath the Administrative and Living Quarters.

If you look to the left of this picture you can see an group of orbs - they can be seen much clearer on the original picture. I've been told by two professional hunters that the orb that is standing out further from the rest of them is the only true orb, but I've been also told that they are all orbs. According to some paranormal believers, it is unusual for there to be more than one or two orbs at a time. They are all symmetrical and the same color density throughout the orb.

Our friend was dowsing outside of cells in the West Cell Block. They stayed crossed and perfectly still indicating there was a conscious spirit in our presence. There is an orb that is visible (better in the original picture) directly on the dowsing rods where they crossed. This pictures strikes an interest to many local ghost hunters because of the accuracy of their crossing and a visible orb actually on the rods at the same time. It's proof of the ghost/orb and the dowsing rods crossing at once.

This picture was also taken on a day tour on June 9 of this year by my mother. I'm the blond in the bottom right corner. We were finishing up a tour walking through the East Cell Block. The orb is circled because it is hard to see.

This is one of the best orbs I've ever caught on film. For some reason, almost all of the pictures I took in the Chapel came out looking like I took them in fog. Only a couple pictures are clear, but without anomalies. I've also learned that when you take pictures of haunted areas one after another, if the first picture is blurry, and the second is clear, there is probably an anomaly in the second, clearer picture. Apparently when something is materializing there is a fog in the air that the eye cannot see, but it can be caught on film. Our tape recorder (located on the floor) kept clicking off on us. I decided to snap a few pictures, and this is what we found in one of them.

This picture was taken within seconds before the next picture. I was skeptical of both pictures, but they were confirmed by Dr. Ken (Ohio Ghost Hunters Society) to be true. There is an orb (very faint) in the top left of the ecto. There is also a the materializing of a face which was a surprise to many people, including myself.

This is the second picture taken about 3 seconds after the first. It's clearer, the ecto is fading, but the orb is darker. For the record, no one was smoking outside, it was warm enough that our breath could not be seen, and there was no fog. I was very surprised to find something on these two pictures. I was not taking a picture of anything in particular, so I can't tell you what made me or why I took these pictures, but I'm glad I did!

This picture was taken in the large area below the old library. Some people believe that this used to be the "insane asylum" , but as far as I know personally, I have no idea what this area was used for last. My brother-in-law took this picture of me filming my sister using the dowsing rods. There is a distinct orb, Elmo's eyes, and a shadow beginning to form on the left side of the picture.

This was taken immediately after the first picture in the insane asylum. The eyes are still visible, the orb is gone and the shadow is much more dense. The dowsing rods were definitely pointing and crossing for us.

This was taken in Helen's room, Warden Glattke's wife. Supposedly she's kept a "prisoner" in this room as she was in her life time. People tend to get a lot of EVP's and pictures of orbs around this area. Unfortunately, we didn't get anything on tape or film, but the dowsing rods moved radically for me as I walked around the room trying to follow the directions they pointed.

This picture was taken in the West Cell Block (diagonal wing) shower room. I'm not aware of any specific stories of this area, but I do know it's very active. The dowsing rods did a lot of crossing as we walked throughout this large room.

The following are more pictures from our last Mansfield Reformatory Hunt on November 17, 2001. Please use, or don't use, what you wish for your site. This was an extremely successful hunt for us. I was "touched" on the face again in the Chapel, and whatever was following me around in there, was caught on film as a white-ish ball of light that followed me. "Whomever" it was, stayed in the Chapel. Becky

This picture was taken during our first break. I was speaking with Dr. Ken of the Ohio Ghost Hunters Society because the camera he gave us to use, refused to work off and on throughout the night. In this "test" picture, we happened to catch an orb floating around. This room was once used as the Living Room for the Warden and his family.

My sister (middle) and I (right) were caught on film like deer in headlights. Once again, the camera was not working and when gave it to Dr. Ken to check it out, he capture us and a "blue mist" outside on the porch around 2:30am.

In front of the brick wall to the left, is a very white, dense orb. This is not a reflection because the brick behind the orb is very dull, painted over many, many times. It stand with nothing but cement and peeling paint. The camera we used had Scotch tape over the flash so it did not reflect as much as a normal flash.

We found Elmo in one of the cells in the West Cell Block. The tier by the cell, and the cell itself smelled like something horrible, and undescribable. Elmo refused to let us take a picture into the cell, but once we held the camera over the tier, this picture took capturing a few orbs to the left.

This is a truly amazing picture. Every single one of the orbs in this picture were confirmed as true anomalies by photographers as well as professional ghost hunters. The shower room is located in the West Cell Block Diagonal, and is the larger of the two showers in the Reformatory. It's also known as one of the most active areas in the prison.

With the many orbs behind us, we took a picture of the pipe rumored to be the exact spot an inmate hanged himself to death years ago. Two more orbs were captured on film.

Just a "start-of-the-roll" picture that was taken to make sure the camera was working properly with a new roll of film. This orb was captured floating around the 4th tier of the West Cell Block.

This mural was painted in one of the upper rooms off of the West Cell Block. It can be seen in Shawshank Redemption when the inmates are watching the moving, waiting for the woman to flip her hair. It's behind the inmates in the background. Very impressive to see in "real life."
